My Girl and I is about two highschool sweethearts, Su-ho (Cha Ta-hyun from My Sassy Girl, Lovers Concerto) and Su-eun (Song Hye-gyo from Full House). At the beginning of this movie, you will know the how it’s going to end so there isn’t much anticipation of what’s going to happen. Like typical Korean dramas/movies, My Girl and I is a love story, a sad one as well. First love usually will land one a long lasting memory, and as shown in this movie, Su-ho is unable to let Su-eun off his minds even though after many years after her death.
I read some reviews mentioning that My Girl And I is a hit not to be missed. I would think otherwise. But the movie did a great job in promoting some of the places in Korea. I like the scenery at the high cliff (with all the flowers) at the end of the movie.

I saw this film on the way back from Singapore. I had just watched King Kong and was so upset I wasted 3 hours of my life on yet another over-rated, more style than substance, American film.
I watched a number of Asian films, made in China, Korean and Japan. It was so refreshing to see the story and dialogue finally take precedence over special effects.
My Girl and I was a great film (made me want to surf for it on the internet) It was very funny, something I didn’t think I would get out of a Korean film. Well put together with good cinematography
So if you want to watch something a bit different, I recommend this film strongly. At the end of the day no matter what nationality, race or religion we maybe. All of us hold the same values, hopes and dreams.
